7 year old Yellow Lab

A true dog whisperer himself, “Xander” plays an active role assisting Nicole as her right hand man.  Xander is frequently seen assisting Nicole on a variety of challenging cases and is always a favourite wherever he goes.  Due to his always balanced temperament and his own intuitive abilities Xander is always Nicole’s top pick when initially assessing a challenging dog.  After many years of experience Xander possesses strong intuitive abilities and excellent body language.  He is always communicating with Nicole to support or inform her of what a dog is saying with its body language or how it is making him feel.

Nicole credits much of what she has learned about Dog Psychology to Xander himself.  Although never aggressive Xander at 8 weeks old developed a very intense food obsession.  Nicole had to work very hard to communicate rules and boundaries, and always maintain the leadership position in order to prevent Xander from taking over and stealing food off counters and respecting boundaries when it came to food.  Very much rehabilitated now, Nicole uses the same techniques that worked on her own dog to address issues with other dogs who are disrespectful of the rules of their human pack.  Xander’s true passion is search and rescue and although never becoming certified as a search dog he enjoys practicing this whenever Nicole gets the time.
